Starting to look like the house we designed.
Whaddya mean "green"?

-Small footprint easier to heat/cool
-No dormers, turrets, crenellations, setbacks: limited indentations that leak heat
-Treated dense-packed cellulose insulation: R=60 in roof
-Andersen E4 "self cleaning" windows except:
-Pella sliding patio doors with built in blinds for no cleaning.
-Radiant floor heating both floors
-All natural gas: heat, water, stove, dryer.
-No oil tank
-No propane tank
-Roof garden on flat roof with additional insulation (R=12)
-No basement to heat or dry out.
-Roof rainwater captured.

Other nice touches:

-Washer/dryer on second floor, where the laundry is.
-Only four feet of hallway.
-All ceiling fixtures have exposed bulbs for easy changing and no cleaning.
-Programmable shower.
-Programmable doorbell.
-Ethernet throughout.
-LED lighting under kitchen cabinets.
-Mail slot in front door (No mailbox on street)
-Municipal water, trash service.
-No private community fees
-Short driveway - easy to clean.
-Concrete patio never rots or shifts.
-Real cedar siding (treated) instead of aluminum or vinyl.
-Eliminated numerous bills/vendors: oil, propane, phone, trash, plow
